Ethics Week 2025 – Celebrating Excellence: Environmentally Responsible

On day four of Ethics Week, we’re highlighting our value of Environmentally Responsible: We are committed to building a more sustainable society and being a good steward of the environment.

We sat down with TSDF Technician and dedicated Ethics Champion Ashley P. from Tampa, FL. She spoke with us about how she lives our value of Environmentally Responsible in her role and how she applies all of our Company values as an Ethics Champion.

“At our location, we handle the storage, treatment and disposal of hazardous waste. This includes chemicals, such as flammable and toxic materials, where we segregate and consolidate them to confirm if we can treat them, store them and send them to be recycled, or if they need to be destroyed. In my role, I mainly perform the consolidation and get things ready to be shipped. It’s extremely important that I follow all regulations when handling the materials.

For me it’s about taking the time to learn about how to be Environmentally Responsible and wanting to play a part in making things better and if there’s something you don’t know, take the time to research it and become informed.

By being a part of the Ethics Champion Program, I’ve spoken with my managers and co-workers about new ideas and shared what I’ve learned. One example is in our Friday safety meetings, I reminded them about our Speak up culture, including the different ways to make a report and what page of the Employee Handbook the information can be found.

In my role, I learn something new every day, face new challenges and see things I’ve never seen before. It’s my duty to research and continue the process. I want to grow, as well as teach and learn from others.”
