Republic Services is leading the way in environmental service solutions, including properly disposing of toxic and hazardous waste. To ensure employees tasked with such operations are safe when they perform this work, they must complete the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response (HAZWOPER) training.

This training is valid for 12 months and must be followed up annually with an 8-hour HAZWOPER refresher course. Without this certification, our Environmental Solutions employees would not be able to respond to situations, such as large national emergencies, or handle many of the hazardous materials we process daily.
