Ops Supervisors Ray L. and Chris D. were at the right place at the right time with the right safety skills recently when they came across a serious motor vehicle accident that had just occurred. With cars smoking and chaos ensuing, Ray and Chris immediately pulled over and put their recently recertified first aid skills to the test. Ray and Chris were among the first to respond and knew action had to be taken as EMS was not on the scene yet.
They evaluated the scene and realized the driver’s side door was stuck. Ray, using his 17 years of past firefighting training, managed to pry open the passenger-side door. They helped both the passenger and driver to safety and administered basic first aid until EMS arrived.
Thank you to Ray and Chris for living our value of Safe: We protect the livelihoods of our colleagues and communities.
