A big thank you to our team of volunteers who spent part of a recent Saturday volunteering at the Day of Hope event aimed at bringing hope to the homeless population in their community. The event was sponsored by the Hernando Homeless Initiative, a People Helping People task force working on ending homelessness in Hernando County.
In recognition of our volunteers’ dedication and hard work, People Helping People Board Member wrote, in part:
“One of the key factors in this event going smoothly was the effort and hard work of the volunteers representing Republic Services. Your volunteers arrived ready to work. Upon completing one task they went in search of additional ways to help. On several occasions I saw things that needed to be dealt with while I was addressing other issues only to turn around and see someone in a Republic Services T-shirt handling the issue.
This is the first time I have sent an email to an organization to commend members’ performance, but given the level of effort and dedication I witnessed I felt it needed to be brought to your attention. I am a retired Army Officer and not easily impressed by most levels of effort and dedication. In the future, when I see a Republic Services Volunteer T shirt, I will breathe a sigh of relief knowing that I have more than just a volunteer, but a volunteer I can depend and lean on to get tasks completed as needed.”
Thank you volunteers!
