Residential Driver Jody G. became an unexpected hero while on his route in Nicholasville, Kentucky. While servicing customers in the area, Jody spotted a woman lying on the street near her vehicle. She had lost her balance on the ice and suffered a broken leg in the fall, leaving her unable to get up. Without hesitation, Jody stopped his truck safely and approached the women to assist. Once he noticed the severity of the incident, he immediately called 911.
Jody stayed by the customer’s side, offering comfort and warmth by providing his coat while they waited for first responders to arrive.
“Stopping and helping her was the right thing to do,” Jody said. “I care about my customers.” His commitment to safety was evident throughout the incident, from ensuring his truck was properly secured to carefully navigating the icy conditions himself.
“We commend Jody on his safety, demeanor and commitment to the communities we serve,” said Robin A., Operations Manager.
