This week, employees celebrated Jerry’s 40-year anniversary with Republic Services in Winchester, Virginia. Jerry started his career in 1983, and has held many positions over the years, including welder, compactor repair, container shop manager, operations manager, general manager, division manager, and is currently a behind-the-wheel instructor/driver. He got is start when he would help his father, who worked for BFI, on weekends and ride with him on his Sunday route. The manager at the time asked if Jerry would work for the company part time, he said yes, and the rest is history!
What does Jerry love most about his job? He says, being able to contribute the Company’s success. Always gives 150 percent.
What’s his advice for new drivers? “Stick with it. Always do your best no matter what you are doing.”
