Driver Danny H. Nominated for National Jefferson Award for “Multiplying Good” in Community

Congratulations to Driver Danny H. in Indianapolis, Indiana, who has been nominated for the National Jefferson Award which recognizes people who go above and beyond in their community. Only a handful of individuals across the country who are performing extraordinary public service in their local communities are chosen for this national recognition.

Founded in 1972 by Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis, Senator Robert Taft Jr. and Sam Beard, the Jefferson Awards National Ceremonies are the country’s longest-standing and most prestigious celebration of public service benefitting local communities.

Danny’s small acts of kindness are too numerous to count. Part of his route includes an in-home daycare in the community, and he’s made such an impact on these kids that the phrase, “Be a Danny” has become a motto for the daycare, encouraging kids to be kind. Danny stops by the daycare on his day off bringing the kids pizza, coloring books and crayons. When he picks up their trash on Thursdays, the kids cheer for Danny as he honks and waves. He’s built a special friendship with the children.

“Danny goes above and beyond every day and this couldn’t happen to a better person,” said Paul C., General Manager.

The awards ceremony will take place this fall in New York City.
