Denver Central Hauling Showcases EV Truck at Labor Day Parade

Thanks to BU450 Denver Central Hauling for sharing photos from two big events that happened over Labor Day weekend.

Republic Services employees spent part of their Labor Day morning participating in the City of Louisville Labor Day Parade. Thousands of community members came out to watch our EV truck coming down main street before the Fall Festival at Memory Square Park. “We received a great response and cheers throughout the parade. Afterward, at the Fall Festival, we had lots of interest, questions and compliments about our work in the community,” said Andrew F., Human Resources Manager.

A SAFE August!

On August 29, team members were treated to a celebratory cookout at Republic’s Commerce City Hauling location. BU457 Denver North Hauling leaders joined the celebration and helped serve a great meal to employees. The celebration was to recognize a SAFE August with no Focus 6 incidents and to mark the end of 101 Days of Summer Safety. “During the celebration, we got a surprise, our first EV vehicle of our expected fleet arrived. This vehicle and the rest of the fleet (now here) will serve the nation’s first fully electric municipal contract for the City of Louisville, CO,” Andrew said.
