Prominent government and business officials of the Cheonan delegation recently toured the Republic Services Recycling Center in South Seattle. It is the largest facility of its kind in the Pacific Northwest.
“Each year, this Recycling Center processes more than 200,000 tons of material, the equivalent weight of nearly 500 fully loaded Boeing 747 airplanes. Our Seattle Recycling Center processes almost 45 tons of recyclables per hour with significant, state of the art technology and highly trained staff. 45 tons per hour is the equivalent of 5 fully loaded recycling trucks,” said Carla J. Contract Administrator.
