Customer Zeal in Action March Winners!

At Republic Services, Customer Zeal means taking ownership to create a great customer experience. Each month, we receive story submissions from across the company that showcase examples of employees embracing a Customer Zeal mindset. At the end of each month, one of these stories is  randomly selected as the winner of prizes and recognition.

Two winners were selected in March for exemplifying the Customer Zeal mindset. Here are their stories:


Lee B., Residential Driver

Lee found a customer’s diamond tennis bracelet laying on the ground next to the recycle cart. He tried knocking on the door, but no one answered. He reached out to Driver Henry to be on the lookout for the customer. Henry knows the customer well and knew the bracelet was a gift from her husband. When the customer was reached, she had not realized the bracelet was missing and instantly began to cry. When Lee returned to the address with the bracelet, the customer was very thankful. She did not think there were people out there, like Lee, who are so honest and go above and beyond.

Christine S., GM Accelerated Trainee

Christine exudes Customer Zeal for our valued customers and internal customers. Christine requested to have a meeting with the Midwest CE Network Supervisors to gain a better understanding of what customer service and inside sales do daily, as well as how we all partner to provide the best customer experience possible. The partnership and collaboration with Christine is amazing, and for her to take time out of her busy day to spread some joy and kudos means a lot. Christine is an example of how to exude Customer Zeal and is a true partner!
