Customer Zeal starts with you! It starts with owning your role and putting the customer first. Driver Jim G. and Operations Clerk Cherie G. are examples of what Customer Zeal looks like. A customer on Jim’s route recently shared this story about how Republic Services has wonderfully impacted his family.
Driver Jim noticed 5-year-old Hazel watching him through her window for approximately a year before he saw her outside and had a chance to speak with her. About six months ago, Hazel was in her front yard with her father when Jim came by to service their container. He stepped out of the truck to just say hello and waved to Hazel. Hazel’s father then told Jim that she has been battling cancer for a while now. Since that time, Hazel always waits for Jim outside when he comes by her house, and he always stops and waves to her.
When Jim told Operations Clerk Cherie G. about Hazel, Cherie put together a care package for Jim to deliver to Hazel. You can see the excitement on Hazel’s face when he stopped and surprised her with the gift bag.
“I look forward to seeing and waving to Hazel every week. It’s my favorite stop to take care of,” Jim says.
