Q. How long have you been with Republic?
A. Since March of 2018
Q. Can you share a little more on your personal connection or passion for the Earth Day Network?
A. When I was a boy, I was a Boy Scout and got to go camping near Philadelphia. This trip made a huge impact as I learned about wildlife, plants and trees that I had not had exposure to. Where I lived, there was very little wildlife other than pigeons, sparrows and an occasional squirrel. At that time, around 1964, I started to notice the pollution in my community, like soap suds and oil in creeks, a bad sulfur smell in the air and how it was impacting my community. The first Earth Day took place my senior year in High School and I felt very strongly about supporting our planet. In college, I participated in some demonstrations as well as community action events. Over time, you could see the positive effects from legislation like the Clean Water Act. I have continued to embrace my love for Earth Day and supporting our planet and try to live my life in a way that promotes continued sustainability for people, wildlife and plants.
