Republic Services is proud to announce an agreement with The Coca-Cola Company to supply recycled PET* flake from our new Polymer Centers for use in sustainable packaging. Instead of separating and baling plastic, as done traditionally, the creation of this “flake” will allow companies, like Coca-Cola, to create new products with the recycled material.
“Republic’s nationwide collection, recycling and Polymer Center infrastructure, combined with our agreement with Coca-Cola, uniquely positions us to enable true bottle-to-bottle circularly,” said Pete Keller, Vice President of Recycling and Sustainability.
This partnership will help Coca-Cola meet their pledge to use at least 50% recycled material in all its packaging by 2030.
