On September 25, Chicago-area employees joined forces with Rebuilding Together Metro Chicago to support Cornerstone Community Outreach (CCO), a nonprofit serving individuals and families experiencing homelessness in Uptown Chicago.
Thanks to a $250,000 National Neighborhood Promise® grant from the Republic Services Charitable Foundation, major upgrades were made to CCO’s main building, including a remodeled entryway, cafeteria and restrooms—creating a more welcoming and accessible space for nearly 500 people served daily.
And our volunteers didn’t stop there! In addition to completing the high-priority projects, the Chicago team took on a large bonus project, helping transform, preserve, organize and brighten the facility.
