Rebuilding Together Metro Chicago was awarded a National Neighborhood Promise grant this year to help with critical repairs to Margaret’s Village, which provides transitional housing for homeless women, children and families. The funds ensure that much-needed roof and masonry repairs will be made. In addition to our funding, 70 Republic Services employees from the greater Chicago area volunteered at Margaret’s Village on Saturday, September 24. Volunteers assisted with playground repairs, painting, building raised garden beds, and general sorting and cleaning. The leaders at Margaret’s Village shared that they are now able to get back to focusing on their mission of serving their vulnerable population, rather than worrying about large projects to keep their facility in operation.
Huge thanks to all of the Chicago volunteers who made the success of NNP Day possible!
