Safe is our top priority: We protect the livelihoods of our colleagues and communities. We never know when or if we will find ourselves in a situation where another life is dependent on our ability to provide CPR or other lifesaving care. Last month, the lifesaving skills of Field Supervisor James B. and HazMat Industrial Services Driver/Tech John Y. saved a life. While at work cleaning up a fuel spill in Molino, Florida, James and John were flagged down by passengers in a car who needed help ASAP because one of the adults was turning blue and unresponsive. James immediately called 911, and fresh from his CPR refresher just a week earlier, began administering CPR for several minutes until the ambulance arrived. Meanwhile, John directed traffic to keep everyone on the scene safe.
This is a great example of living our values of Safe and Human-Centered. We are so thankful to James and John for their heroic efforts and lifesaving actions!
