Republic Services is proud to unveil its partnership with Commerce City, introducing a fully electric recycling and waste collection fleet to the community this month. This establishes Commerce City as Colorado’s largest city to operate an entirely electric trash collection service.
The initial deployment includes eight state-of-the-art electric collection vehicles serving the Commerce City community. By year’s end, Republic Services will expand its sustainable fleet to 19 electric vehicles operating from the Commerce City Hauling Facility, including four specialized front-loader trucks designed for commercial trash collection.
These cutting-edge electric vehicles deliver multiple environmental and community benefits, including reductions in greenhouse gas emissions, decreased operational noise levels and improved neighborhood air quality.
