For one Anaheim family, Friday mornings are more than just collection day. They are an opportunity to see someone who has made a lasting impact on their lives.
Every week, three-year-old Zachary eagerly waits for his friend, Driver Carlos A., to arrive and collect the family’s organics. A lifelong fan of trash trucks, Zachary has become especially excited to see Carlos, who consistently goes above and beyond to brighten the young boy’s day with a wave, a friendly honk or even a quick conversation.
Recently, Zachary and his family surprised Carlos with a special birthday gift to thank him for the joy and kindness he brings to their neighborhood. Zachary’s mother shared:
“For as long as I can remember, my son has been in love with all things trash truck. Over the last few years, we have been fortunate enough to have Carlos as our early morning driver. He has always made sure to make my son Zachary’s morning by waving, giving him a little honk, or even coming out and having a quick hug and conversation with him.”
