Nothing is more important than safety. Over the past month, our safety record has never been better. Thank you to all of you for your commitment to safety – it takes our entire team working together to achieve a safe, incident-free work environment.
The coronavirus (COVID-19) situation has required changes to the way we work and adjustments to our safety measures to help protect employees, customers and communities. To build on our safety successes, we launched a Safe May Challenge with the goal of having zero safety frequency incidents for one month across the entire country. We had such a positive response to the Safe Day Challenge on April 21, that the challenge was extended to a whole month!
For each week of the Safe May Challenge, there is focus on a safety training topic to reinforce our safety culture. Last week, the focus was on safe backing, with a Safe Day Backing Challenge held on May 13. The goal was to have zero backing incidents across the country. And, we did it! Way to go team!
At the end of the month, we’ll announce the winners of the Safe May Challenge.
