Across our operations, Republic Services helps protect biodiversity by preserving more than 13,000 acres of open space and wildlife habitat.
From managing habitat for native Texas species at 130 Environmental Park Landfill to supporting migratory birds at Kestrel Hawk Landfill in Wisconsin, our teams are helping healthy ecosystems thrive.
Biodiversity by the numbers:
- 77 sites with preserves, easements, trails or sports fields
- 26 sites with land reserved for farming
- 9 sites with permitted grass, plant or tree habitats
- 3 sites with permitted animal habitats
