As of 2024, more than 13,000 Republic Services’ trucks across nearly 300 locations are equipped with collision avoidance systems. That means thousands of our drivers now have an extra layer of protection while serving customers and navigating busy streets.
The system uses dual-facing cameras to spot both potential hazards outside the truck and signs of distracted driving inside the cab. If something’s not right, the driver immediately hears an in-cab audio alert—plus real-time coaching to help them refocus.
