101 Days of Summer Safety Kick-Off!

Memorial Day weekend is known as the official kickoff for summer and with it comes a long list of safety topics to keep in mind. From staying hydrated in high temperatures and prioritizing sun safety, to safely enjoying upcoming holidays like the 4th of July and watching out for children playing outside, there are many things to consider.

This summer, we’ll share safety tips so we can all get home safely while enjoying summer activities. We will also have a fun Summer Safety contest for a chance to win “summer-themed” prizes.

Divisions are tracking their safe days on this 101 Days of Summer Safety poster. The poster serves as a reminder to follow these important safety tips during the summer months:

  • Don’t wait – hydrate early! Stay hydrated by drinking non-caffeinated fluids, preferably water, before starting your day. Stay hydrated throughout the day by taking plenty of water with you
  • Slowly acclimate to the heat – allow time for your body to adjust to the increasing temperatures
  • Apply (and reapply!) sunscreen
  • Watch for children around water and busy streets
  • Remember: Water, Rest, Shade

How are you and your teams keeping safety top of mind this summer? Send us your stories and photos to BlueNation@RepublicServices.com. We’d love to hear from you!
